Target Audience for Blogs? + Realizing a Personal Goal

Yesterday I didn't have school due to ice on the roads; I can say with full satisfaction that I got 12 hours of sleep! Unfortunately I didn't do much else, nothing felt interesting or fun at the time. In hindsight I should have blogged that day, but I really didn't have much to talk about.

That is the one problem I can see with me having a blog; I can't see anyone who has the same interests as me AND reads other peoples blogs. In fact I'm sure most people in my class don't share the same interests as me (that and I'm the only one who isn't a senior). If you are curious to what interests I have most of them on my profile that you can view; I'm not really feeling like listing them off here.

Of course someone will bring up, "Well why don't you talk about things going on at the high school?". Here's the lowdown, I'm not a very outside person; I prefer to stay at my computer and talk to my online friends. The drama outside is not for me, I hate everything about it, and when it comes to stuff during hours I simply ignore "most" of it and focus on my studies.

I think that last sentence is a run-on...
oh no

Anyways, another point I wanted to bring up was one of the reasons I began this blog. I may or may not have forgotten one of the most important details of this blog...

It's a class assignment.

Despite this I'll still be writing this to a more general audience rather than just my classmates (oh god my teacher better not write any weird comments). What I wanted to say though is that I also have an ulterior goal with this blog, one I briefly stated last post. When I get to college I want to major in english, meaning that I need a lot of writing experience. Aside from this the only writing (wait... or is this typing?) I ever do is either for other schoolwork is a fantasy story that I'm only a couple pages into.

So I guess I'm saying that many of classmates will simply drop their blog once they are done with the assignment, but I think I'll stay (or at least attempt to) . It's been too long that I've dropped something just because it was too much work, but I think I'm ready to start acting responsible and hold on to this project years after I graduate.

Who knows where this will take me...

  1. I'd say it's more important to be yourself in this blog and let people who want to read it come and read it. Sure, if the way you present yourself happens to be more mainstream then you will be likely to attract more viewers, it just means it will be a little harder to get viewers if you don't, but there are plenty of people out there who I'm sure share similar interests as you (me being one of them).

That is, if you DO want to take this blog more seriously. (:
